The Symbol..

A History Mystery...

A final thrust of the crowbar cracked the wooden crate open, and the architect, the anthropologist and the mortar expert leaned in to look at the oddity that had drawn them to an out-of-the-way warehouse. It was a 3-foot-by-10-foot section of timeworn brick wall, its predictable rows abruptly interrupted by three distinct, deliberate-looking triangular shapes. Once part of a warehouse, it now does nothing but raise questions.

Book of the Week

HOLLYWOOD "LIT..."  by Di Dean

WHAT IF JAMES DEAN LEFT A SECRET HE NEVER KNEW EXISTED? ..... A CHILD. What if one of the most famous Hollywood icons of all time left a single heir... he never knew existed. What if the Mother hid the pregnancy to escape the possibility of going to jail, and traveled five states away to ensure the baby would be delivered in secrecy and kept hidden as if it never existed? What if that child grew into an adult who was crippled by her Mother's addiction to pills, pathologic lies, and insane rages to disguise... the truth?

Why can't we all be Japanese?

Religion Fosters Bad Behavior...

Comparing 18 prosperous democracies from the U.S. to New Zealand, author Gregory S Paul quietly demolished the myth that faith strengthens society.

Drawing on a wide range of studies to cross-match faith – measured by belief in God and acceptance of evolution – with homicide and sexual behavior, Paul found that secular societies have lower rates of violence and teenage pregnancy than societies where many people profess belief in God. Top of the class, in both atheism and good behavior, come the Japanese.

Over eighty percent accept evolution and fewer than ten percent are certain that God exists. Despite its size – over a hundred million people –
Japan is one of the least crime-prone countries in the world. It also has the lowest rates of teenage pregnancy of any developed nation.
